The Bihar Public Service Commission has released the notification for the 72nd Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) 2026 to recruit candidates for various administrative posts. The selection process includes Preliminary Exam, Main Exam, and Interview.

Exam Pattern

1. Preliminary Examination

• Subject: General Studies
• Type: Objective (Multiple Choice Questions)
• Total Marks: 150
• Duration: 2 Hours

Key Points:

• Each question has five options (A, B, C, D, E)
• Candidates must select one option
• If not attempting a question, option “E” must be selected
• Negative Marking: 1/3 marks deducted for each wrong answer
• Prelims is only a qualifying stage for Mains

2. Main Examination

     Compulsory Papers:

• General Hindi – 100 Marks (Minimum 30% required, not counted in merit)
• General Studies Paper 1 – 300 Marks
• General Studies Paper 2 – 300 Marks
• Essay – 300 Marks

   Optional Subject:

• One optional subject to be selected
• Total Marks: 300
• Candidates must score minimum qualifying marks

3. Interview (Personality Test)

• Total Marks: 120
• Candidates shortlisted from Mains will be called
• Participation is mandatory

Selection Process

The selection process consists of three stages:

1. Preliminary Examination (Screening Test)
2. Main Written Examination
3. Interview / Personality Test

Final selection is based on marks obtained in Mains and Interview.

• Interview (120 Marks)
